The setting
A boutique hotel right on the La Viñuela lake, wrapped in olive groves and white villages, about 50 minutes inland from Málaga airport. Sunsets over the water are the house specialty.
Spa & pool
There's a private spa — book your treatments and circuit slots early, they go fast on wedding weekends. One lovely pool overlooks the lake (yes, just the one — claim your sunbed with ambition).
Eat & drink
The hotel restaurant is one of the best in the area — lake views included. Breakfast is worth waking up for, and a drink on the terrace before dinner is mandatory (house rules, ours).
The wedding, at your doorstep
The ceremony and dinner happen right here on the hotel grounds — your commute on Monday is a staircase. Arrive by 6:45 PM for a 7:30 ceremony, party inside with A/C until 3 AM, then stumble gloriously to bed.
Practical bits
Plenty of free parking if you're driving. Reception can arrange taxis into Vélez-Málaga or the coast. September days run warm (~28°C) with mild lake evenings — pack a light layer.
Right around the hotel
Lakeside walks below, the white village of La Viñuela nearby, and wine country all around. If you have a car, Comares and the Axarquía viewpoints make a gorgeous late morning.
